When your company is just you and a partner, it’s kind of difficult to figure out what to say on Facebook. Do you just talk amongst yourselves? I have a hard enough time finding something to say on my personal page. At least I found the place to create a company page.

I just found out that Nuance, the makers of the speech recognition software Dragon naturally speaking, do not offer the software as a downloadable purchase. Seems strange that a product which appeals so much to the disabled would require me to drive somewhere if I needed to purchase it right now.

Best and Worst Automotive Manufacturers Website

Just a casual observation as I’m in the market for a car. Best manufacturer’s website I’ve seen? Ford . I’ve never been a great fan of the company or their products, but when it comes to website user experience, they get it. Quickly rip through different models, compare trim packages, and all the while dynamically updating your total cost and monthly lease payment at the bottom of the screen. Tasteful, easy to use, standard navigation concepts, and all of the data at your fingertips.

The worst manufacturer’s website I’ve seen? Mitsubishi! Who the heck sold them this thing? I’m looking through a keyhole at the information. The nav buttons are scattered everywhere. The sliding screen makes me dizzy. Additional nav pops up and covers half of my keyhole site picture. All I want to see is a good picture of the rear seat legroom. Absolutely maddening!

Kindle Coverage

I really like the idea of a Kindle. Almost enough to justify the price. The thought of getting periodicals and newspapers delivered to my bedside table, while I’m brewing my morning cup of coffee, does appeal to me. I can even believe it would make me a better (at least more well-read) person.

So, with a casual thought, I checked the wireless coverage map to see how many far-off places I could visit while downloading to my new e-reader. What I found was, although I could enjoy lightning-fast 3G downloads while visiting our Choroa Safaris office in Arusha, Tanzania, I would have to drive over an hour north of my small, but cosmopolitan town of Bend, Oregon, to reach the edge of the worst coverage. Nice.

Kindle…sometimes works better in remote eastern Africa, than sitting at a Starbucks on a major US highway.

At least they talked me out of spending $259.
