After the recent revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, and growing unrest in Bahrain and Libya, we’ve become accustomed to harrowing headlines from reporters amidst angry demonstrators. My personal prediction, based on what I’ve seen online last week, is that we’ll have regime change in Libya, Bahrain, and Wisconsin before the end of next month.

So, then this morning I saw, “FOX Crew Attacked in Notomas.” I assumed this was some border town in eastern Libya, and I quickly clicked the link to see the drama first hand. I was, of course, surprised to see Notomas was in California.

Ingredients:
Basmati rice – 2 cups
Chicken pieces – 3/4 kg.
Onion – 3 large, sliced
Yoghurt – 1 cup
Ginger paste – 1 tsp
Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Green chilli paste – 1 tsp
Tomato puree – 1/2 cup
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder (roasted) – 1 tsp
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 2 tsp
Milk – 1/2 cup
Saffron – a pinch
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Green coriander leaves – 2 tbsp, chopped
Water – 3 1/2 cups
Oil – 7 tbsp
Salt as required

Method:
1. Make a mixture with tomato puree, yoghurt, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder and salt.
2. Take the chicken and marinade it in the same mixture. Let it rest for 3-4 hours.
3. Put oil in a pan, heat it and fry onions till they turn golden brown.
4. Now, to this add the marinated chicken and cook the entire mixture for 10 mins.
5. Next in a pressure cooker, take the rice and add 3 1/2 cups of water to it. Also, take the saffron, mix with the milk and add to the rice.
6. Finally, add the cardamom powder and the chicken pieces, along with the marinade.
7. Mix all the ingredients gently, cover with the cooker lid and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Garnish with green coriander leaves and serve hot.

How do you delete a suggested site from Chrome?

This has been bugging me for the longest time. I mistyped a URL into my Chrome browser and then it became the first suggestion everytime I typed “www”. That honor used to be held by google.com, which was really handy as that’s one of the sites I visit most often.
So, after a month or so suffering with this, I finally took the time to search out the solution. When the list of suggested sites pops up, just highlight the one you don’t want and hit SHIFT+DEL
Like magic it’s gone!

Allyson's Kitchen Closed

Although I had predicted the closing of this store the day I found that Allyson was no longer a part of it, I didn’t realize it was closed until someone stopped by to purchase my annual Aero-Press and found that I’m going to have to find a new supplier (yes, I’m trying to remain calm). When Allyson ran the shop here, it was a cult of personality. I stopped in often for wine tastings, cooking classes, and overpriced supplies (which I was happy to pay for). After she left, it was just a store. And a store I didn’t find myself needing to frequent. At least a year ago I expressed my concern to one of the employees and offered to help the new owners bring the life back into the store, but no one called.

This was a fantastic story to wake up to this morning. This homeless guy was discovered on the streets of Columbus. Someone video-taped him, posted to Youtube, and now the guy has offers for work coming in from all over the nation.

Absolutely fantastic. He was interviewed by Matt Lauer on the Today Show this morning.

Youtube risks?

Are there risks to using YouTube on your company website when you’re not familiar with the settings? Yes.

As seen below when I got on someone’s company website to watch an introductory video on a new contract software package. After the intro video, hosted on YouTube, the system went on to “related videos”.

I’m sure this isn’t what they meant to show their customers. Ha!

On The Rocks…rocks

I don’t care if you’re a Beaver or a Duck, these guy’s are
pretty incredible. On the Rocks is a cappella group from University
of Oregon. Started in 1999, they’re now one of the best collegiate
groups in the nation. And thanks to the show The Sing
Off, or I might have totally missed these guys. By
the way…the show is on tonight.
